We believe that who you hunt with is just as important as what you're hunting for

Texas Photo Hunters is a family enterprise and we invite you to be a part of our family. Allow us to capture the experiences of your life for you and your loved ones to share.

Texas Photo Hunters now offers the opportunity to capture the unparalleled beauty and grandeur of our native Texas game animals in their natural environment. Nestled in the hills that the first settlers viewed and declared their home, we will take you on an excursion through pristine woodlands and grasslands that bring our first-time visitors back again and again.

It is the hunt, the joy of golden promise in the dawn, the excitement of the day and the relaxation of the crimson dusk, that draws the hunter afield.

Our Instructors:

A.W. Block comes from a long line of outdoorsmen, photographers and hunters. His first firearm was a Winchester .22 which he learned how to shoot at the tender age of six. He discovered the camera In High School when he joined a Journalism class with no budget for a photographer, so he taught himself to use a twin lens reflex camera and to operate a darkroom.

Throughout his life the thrill of hunting and of capturing life on film never left him. Although he prefers film he has made the transition to digital to continue to capture life at 1/125 of a second.

A.W. began teaching handgun safety and concealed weapons license classes ten years ago, and has now figured a way to combine his two main passions, hunting and photography. With his oldest son he has formed Texas Photo Hunters.

Jaret Harrison grew up with a camera in his hands. He built his first dark room from scratch when he was fourteen years old, in his grandfather's guest bathroom. He went on to earn his BFA in photography from Louisiana Tech University and has been shooting professionally since 2003. He's worked for three private studios and one corporate studio, and has been freelancing in Austin, TX for seven years. Aside from wildlife, Jaret shoots products and commercials, weddings, portraits, and college and semi-pro sports. He's been teaching photography workshops for over seven years now.

Jaret started Texas Photo Hunters with his dad, A.W., so they could both spend more time with their greatest passion: the outdoors. When he's not working, he spends his free time camping, hiking and shooting all over the great parks that Texas has to offer. His favorite place to camp is Big Bend National Park.
